Founded in 2000, The Kambhampati Mahidhara Foundation is dedicated to providing a solid, holistic education and welfare to the children of underprivileged communities and slum dwellers in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, through Prajavidyalayam. We offer government-recognized courses from nursery to tenth grade, adopting the state syllabus with Telugu as the medium of instruction, following the ideal of uplifting the poor through education.
To be a well-respected, unique educational institution where every child learns without fear, and where "learning is fun and teaching is joy." Our vision is embodied in our strong work ethic, where everyone adheres to a shared commitment to the principles of Mahatma Gandhi, ultimately fostering a world where 6,000+ Girls/Children have been empowered through education to break the cycle of poverty.
A Life Dedicated to Light: Kambhampati Susila Rani
Ms. Kambhampati Susila Rani was not just a founder; she was a catalyst for social transformation. Born into a family of freedom fighters and shaped by her career in journalism and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, she made a life-altering choice at the age of 50 to dedicate her sunset years to the marginalized. In 2000, she founded Prajavidyalayam, creating a sanctuary of learning for children and underprivileged communities of the region. For over 26 years, her unwavering commitment has turned a small initiative with 30 children into a beacon of hope, empowering generations through holistic education, vocational skills, and the warmth of a mother’s care.
By integrating American creative methods with local Telugu roots and empowering entire families through vocational initiatives, she has created a self-sustaining cycle of upliftment where former students now return as teachers—proving that the "fourth stage" of life can be a powerful engine for systemic change and communal healing.
Managing Trustee
"Service is not about signing a bank check. It's not about volunteering for four hours a week at a particular place. Service means caring for the needy with a smile, and focusing on their well-being. It means striving for the welfare of others in thought, word, and deed".
